User reviews on Carolina Cinemas - Raleigh Grande 16
I moved near the Raleigh Grande 6 mths ago. While the previews were showing at the 1st movie I viewed I was Facebooking the amazement in quality of the entertainment experience that Raleigh Grande offers the community. You get what you pay for in most cases but your prices are no higher than the rest and you get twice the entertainment. A step above the rest. I have always watched the popcorn being made fresh right in front of me.Thank you and we will see you soon!
I lived in the neighborhood when the theater was first built and it was a great theater. It is still a good theater but could use some improvement. The ladies bathrooms need more attention because they are often messy with water pooling on the counter tops. Checking and cleaning them more frequently would be a good idea.
The treats are pricey and a small drink should be an option. It would be great if they would begin to pop fresh popcorn instead of the stale popcorn they serve now. Part of the ambience of going to movies is the smell of the fresh popcorn being popped at the refreshment counter. It used to be one of the reason why people came to the theater instead of staying home to watch an on demand, rental or their own movies.
I give the Raleigh Grande 16 3 1/2 stars and wish they would consider hosting some movie themed events that coincide with the opening of some the more popular movies such as Alice in Wonderland which would have been great for the Easter holiday weekend. RJ
The Grande is my first choice for finding movies that aren't showing at my more local six-plex. The theater and bathrooms are clean, the staff is friendly. Prices are average for good theaters (and less than many). Parking is generally easy, especially if you go to the earlier shows. And they've just added excellent technology for viewing 3-D.
The quart-sized drinks are an option, not a requirement, and although most theater concessions are expensive, I sometimes treat myself with some of their delicious flavored popcorn.
Boy, Karl, you either work for the competition or you have a huge chip on your shoulder!
Our family loves movies. We’ve visited all the theaters in the Raleigh area, but lately we have become regular fans of the Raleigh Grande. The Grande offers the major movies, and lately it seems they are often showing an independent film as well. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful. They seem to actually enjoy their work, and they pass that cheer on to the customer. The popcorn is good, and the prices are no more than the other theaters, maybe a little less. It feels good to go to the Grande. Thanks, people, for doing things right.
Now back under new management, the Carolina (Grande) is now looking a bit dated, in spite of the stadium seats. They still have the annoying aisle lights to blind you as you go up or down the steep steps -- very bad design. Popcorn is the stale stuff popped god knows where, brought in huge plastic bages, and way overpriced. A large popcorn and two drinks goes for $17. You\'re forced to buy quart sized drinks -- really ridiculous.
