I did not like this film and do not recommend seeing in the theaters. I don’t understand why Jeff Kinney’s books are so much better than the movies and every time i hope that the film will be good I am disappointed. I found the film to be full of lame gags and laughs were too few in between. I found the performance of Steve Zahn annoying and too indulgent and I found the film to be extremely predictable. The main flaw of this film is that it is not emotionally truthful and I did not enjoy watching it. Overall, I suggest you find a better film to watch with your children.
I went to see this film with my nephew and I think he had a pretty good time watching but I found this film to be a bit boring and predictable. There were couple of funny moments and I laughed couple of times but overall the film lacked the emotional truth and i could not relate to the characters. I think the film will appeal to a younger audience but the parents will have a hard time liking it. Some of the characters were very charming and that was a plus but overall i think this franchise needs to die because it really has nothing new to offer.
